Ideal, Actual Role Perception and Role Discrepancy for Clinical Nurses


Abstract
This study was aimed at examing the ideal, actual role perception and role discrepancy for clinical nurses. And that will being help to hospital nursing management.
Here, role conceptions were devided into the professional role conception, bureaucratic role conception and service role conception.
This study was based on 205 registered nurses who worked in one hospital.
And the data was collected through questionnaire from July 24th to July 30th, 1994. Data analysis method included the SPSS program for Paired T-test, Duncan's multiple range test, X2-test, Pearson' s Correlation.
@ES The result and finding were as follows.
@EN 1. There was statistically significant differences between ideal and actual role perception for clinical nurses(p<0.01).
2. There was statistically significant differences.
1) Ideal, actual role discrepancy for professional role conception according to educational level(P<0.01).
2) Ideal, actual role discrepancy for bureaucratic role conception according to educational level(P<0.001).
3) Ideal, actual role discrepancy for professional role conception according to present servise(P<0.05).
